Subaru debuted the Forester in 1997 as one of the first crossover
SUV’s and an entire new automotive market was born, car like styling
with enough ground clearance to clear pretty much anything in its path.
While that is all well and good, we have a phobia of wheel gap and vehicles that just seem to sit way too
high. With its truck like stance and less than stellar handling
capabilities, the Forester definitely does not strike you as the
ultimate vehicle to have scraping pavement. So with that in mind and a
nervous twitch the engineers at Air Lift Performance went to work on designing the best air
suspension possible for the Forester.
Any old strut up front would simply not do to cure the Forester’s
ride height issue. So we took our 30 level adjustable, monotube
threaded body struts and topped it off with a smooth riding double
bellow air spring for the ultimate in drop and ride comfort. To help
you get the most out of your suspension we included adjustable camber
plates made from T6061 aluminum and anodized in a rich red color to
match the end caps of the air springs. All of this adds up to a 6.2?
drop from standard height in the front!
To drop the rear 5.9? we used the same style threaded body, monotube
strut was used in conjunction with a smooth ride progressive rate sleeve
style air spring. To help with alignment and handling we have
integrated an adjustable camber plate made of T6061 red anodized
aluminum with high quality spherical bearings to mirror the front
suspension. All of this coupled with 30 different levels of damping
adjustment really allow you to fine tune your ride quality and handling
performance.
Now you can convert your Forester from utilitarian to show stopper
literally with the push of a button. With this much height
adjustability the possibilities are endless to what you can do with your
crossover. Add the fact that you can change the handling performance
with the twist of the knob and you have the ultimate in crossover
vehicles. Lowered stance, improved ride quality and amazing handling,
that’s a crossover that will restore our engineering staff’s sanity!
Take a look at what's included:
-Air
Lift Performance bolt on front and rear High Performance air struts-
threaded shock bodies for fine-tuning ride height, 30 way adjustable
damping, and anodized aluminum brackets
-AccuAir VU4 4 Way Valve Manifold- Compact design, easy installation, four corner independent control
-Viair 380C Chrome Air Compressor Dual Pack - includes two 200 psi chrome air compressors, relays, pressure switch, and more
-5 gallon ALUMINUM air tank- perfect size for your ride, aluminum won't
corrode or rust. Mounting feet on bottom for easy installation in your trunk.
-50' roll of 3/8" DOT approved air line
-Brass DOT approved PUSH-CONNECT air fittings- no leaks or
failures with these quality parts! Watch out for inferior kits looking
to save a buck by sending you plastic non-DOT fittings!!
-AVS 7 Switch Box - prewired handheld box for easy installation and clean compact controls
Our LEVEL 3 kit builds upon LEVEL 2
specs, but upgrades the individual air valves for an AccuAir VU4
manifold valve for a simpler and more compact installation with less
plumbing and wiring.
We
include complete installation guides for the installation of the
airbags, as well as plumbing and wiring diagrams to make things as
painless as possible. Feel free to ask any questions about putting this kit
in and we'll be happy to assist! We love
hearing from our customers and seeing their projects come together.
AccuAir Endo-VT Upgrade: Upgrading to the ENDO-VT will exchange the VU4 valve manifold, and the seamless aluminum air tank for a 5 gallon ENDO-VT valve tank. Comes in raw aluminum finish.
BCFab Airbox Upgrade: This will exchange the AVS wired switchbox for the wireless BCFab Airbox.
